Sharks, Gatorade, and the Civil War

Well, it's been quite some time since I last wrote much of anything, so I might as well start up again now.

Right now I'm laying in my bed, naked, listening to soft piano music. I think that this is probably the most effective way to fall asleep. If only I didn't have this warm laptop on my nethers, goodness gracious.

WEEEEE! Blog writing. I shall sum up what I have done since my last blog. Today I made some Lemon Lime Gatorade in a blue bottle. It looked green like some sort of toxic waste. It was delicious. Oh and I had the best summer of my life. K cool, that's out of the way.

I discovered if you type (^^^) on facebook chat, it shows a picture of a shark instead. If there were more of those types of things I would use them all the time. Sharks are good for now though.

My crocs are almost all the way worn through, either I get new ones or someone else does for me. Or I start wearing different shoes. So many options!

Oh, my roommates and I got some pictures taken of us as a family. Here's the coolest one.

This weekend I'm volunteering in a Civil War reenactment with some of my friends, that should be fun. Oh and before that I get to hear a talk by Doris Kearns Goodwin the author of Team of Rivals, a book about the Civil War. Pretty darn convenient, huh?

K bye.

The Meaning of Life

Yes, this is really about the meaning of life.

Today my friend figured it out. The meaning of life. Most of you may ask, what's the meaning of life?

The answer is simple, it's in the question. You need to find out the meaning of life. So, go out and do it. Make sure you're having fun doing it, however. While doing so you will fulfill your life's meaning. Easy. Jake's a genius.

DONE!

Well readers of this blog, it's been a while. Let me update you on my life since I last blogged. I breathed a bunch of times, slept, beat Zelda Twilight Princess, and started a couple of hundred day commitments. Those are fun. You should try one, unknown reader. Just commit to doing something for 100 days. Make it something that takes about 10 minutes a day, and you're ready to go. You can give something up if you want, but replace that thing by doing something else, or else it doesn't really count.
Anywho, life is going swell. I'm working in the mail room at the place I inhabit which is pretty cool. I'm actually there right now, typing a blog because I'm bored. My job consists of this: drive the mail van around delivering it in town, and smiling at everyone I see. It's a pretty awesome job. Unfortunately I have to stay for the entire hour, so it results in me doing things like this blog, or other work that won't necessarily help me later in life.
Tonight, I'm going to see a school play at the high school I used to go to. It should be good, because that's how musical productions are. I was in them for the last two years of my high school career, and wish I had put myself in the opportunities that have arisen since then.
I realized today that most people make a specific choice between what is right and what is easy. The large majority chooses what is easy, which is one reason the economy is doing so poorly. I think it'd much better, and more fun to do what is right, but that may just be me.
Today I tried to play the harmonica. It was really hard, but apparently there are numbers on harmonicas. All of the harmonicas I grew up trying to play didn't have numbers. I'm confused as to why the numbers were put on there. Moving along my train of thought, I discovered that I wanted to get better at playing an instrument. I can play a few instruments barely, the piano, guitar, drums, harmonica, xylophone, etc. but I think it would be awesome to get that good at something. Sounds like an opportunity for one of those 100 day commitments.
Well, I think that's all I'm going to write for now, because it's about time for work to end.
I shall try to update this more often for those of you who like to read these things.
Love,
Me

Who watches the Watchmen? Me.

Well, today is Thursday. That's the day before Friday and after Wednesday for all of you newcomers. What are days really? No one really knows. Well someone does, but I don't. I can guess though. Days are human creations. There really is no such thing as a specific day. Sure there's light and dark, so days make sense, and I guess there's a lunar and solar cycle which help to determine months and years, but why days? Who's to say" "it feels like a Friday"? if everyone else agrees that it feels like a Friday on a Monday, why don't we just change that day to be Friday. Really I'm not that into time measurements because they're so uniform. If we're going to do such a thing our whole lives should be uniform, not chaotic on a uniform schedule.
I like it when food instructions say cook for 12-13 minutes. Most people set their timers for 12 minutes, or thirteen minutes. I like to go somewhere around 12:32.18. I think that's the best way to cook things, until they're cooked, not until a certain amount of minutes pass. That's my schpeal <--? on that.
Tonight, or technically tomorrow, Watchmen comes out. I'm super pumped and hope I can get to the midnight showing. A lot of my friends are going tomorrow night (lame) but a few of my (better) friends are heading out tonight. I just finished the novel like 2 weeks ago, and enjoyed it to the extent that one can enjoy a graphic novel.
This is one of those spots where I can't think of anything to write. Perhaps this: Hot tubs are awesome. I just sat in one for 20 minutes. It was absolutely divine.
Okay, time for me to go.
Goodbye world.

Madea and Hitch

Well, another day has gone by. That's how it works I guess. Today was an interesting day. Once again, it started at midnight with a few things going on. My friend was in town and we played the game Even More Contraptions. It's part of the Incredible Machine series. That's where one makes Rube Goldberg Machines on a computer in order to do certain tasks. (Rube Goldberg machines are awesome by the way, a bunch of simple machines working together to do a small task, sweet.)
Well, that was eventful. Afterward I slept for more hours than usual and then watched part of the movie Surf's Up. An excellent cartoon if I do say so myself. Later on I watched the first rugby game I can remember. It was pretty cool, and super exciting, but I don't know if I want to play... (I tried once and almost hurt myself up pretty bad. I'll feel better when I have my confirmed safety.)
Well that was fun, but now on to the meat of my day. I went and saw the movie Madea Goes to Jail. This of course is a Tyler Perry movie. My second, and it's been quite a while. However, today I went to a theater that appeals to audiences that like that kind of movie. Alright, I'll be honest, I was a white guy sitting as the only one in a black theater. Frankly, it was one of the best experiences of my life. The amount of interaction with the movie entertained me immensely. I'm the kind of person that laughs out loud a lot during movies, and likes to lean over every once in a while to whomever's with me and share my opinion on some little aspect of the movie.
Moving on, it was not only an excellent film, but my experience in the theater was amazing. I may start going to black movies in black theaters more often.
Oh and then tonight I watched Hitch. Of course that is one of my favorite movies ever, because not only is Will Smith one of the best actors EVER, but that movie goes to show that people fall in love with who you really are, rather than someone you're trying to be.
I know this seems to be getting pretty deep for a blog, especially considering the kind of stuff I like to talk about, but heck, depth is just as important as information. I should do this more often. Wow, no one is probably reading this, great. Way to waste your time Chris.
Well goodbye nobody.

Scarlett Johansson is in 2nd

Well, I don't know how long it is until anyone will read this, but I guess we'll find out.
Today was a normal day. It started at midnight, as all days do, with me watching the movie In Good Company (I don't know whether that's supposed to be italicized or underlined or anything, but heck, it's a blog, no one cares. Anyways, it's a good movie. Scarlett Johansson of course is the second prettiest woman in the world (second to Jenna Fischer, Pam from the office) and so I had an excellent time watching her do various Scarlett things such as falling in love with someone she's not allowed to be in love with. Topher Grace is also a cool dude, he kind of gets type-casted because he's a wimp, except in Spider-Man 3, but hey, whatever brings in the dough, right?
All in all I highly recommend this film, whether you take my advice or not is your choice.
Oh, and Dennis Quaid is in it too. He's cool. Old, but cool. Like Albus Dumbledore.
Going on with my day. I slept for a few hours. I went to class (I'm in college). I played some videogames. I lifeguarded. I started a blog.
Well, that's about it.
